A NEW YEAR

A New Year is when you say goodbye to the old year.
And welcome the new one with delight.
It’s when the tree is still lit up,
And families sit together ’til the end of the night.

It’s when the streets are full and empty.
Some people are at their house,
And some are watching the Crystal Ball,
Wearing their best yellow blouse.

Everyone wants the clock to strike midnight.
And all are counting down
5,4,3,2,1!
"Happy New Year!"
Is heard all through out the town.

And so with that the New Year begins.
With warmth in everyone’s heart.
Say goodbye to the grief of the year before,
And welcome the laughter of the year to start.
